MY APPROACH

I work with anxiety, depression, relationship difficulties, and the lasting effects of trauma. If you find yourself stuck in patterns that are not working, feeling disconnected from yourself or others, or trying to make sense of a difficult experience, therapy can help.

My style is supportive, thoughtful and direct. Together we look at what may be keeping you stuck: patterns that repeat, the inner voices that shape how you see yourself, roles that are difficult to step out of, and coping strategies that may once have helped but now create difficulties. As things become clearer, new choices and possibilities can begin to open up.

BEGINNING THERAPY

The first phase of therapy is about understanding. I take time to get to know you and to understand what has been happening, both internally and in your life, and what has led you to seek therapy at this point.

From there we work together to find a shared focus for the therapy: what we are here to understand or change. I do not rush this process. What initially brings someone to therapy is not always the thing that is keeping them stuck.

Once that focus becomes clearer, we agree how we will work together so that the therapy has a sense of purpose, direction, and fit for you.
